Linux Boot creates lots of files, Windows does not.

Is there an option in the linux version so that the PVHD won't create so many backup files? The Linux boot made .p01-.p07 while the Windows version just made a .pbe file.

Also, does it matter which version we use to recover if we have used both the Windows and Linux backup boot? I'm thinking not, but I just wanted to be sure.
