Used the Linux program you offer which indicated it could read and write.

4TB internal drive has been formatted
4TB internal drive has been formatted
4TB external backup drive

Copied files from NTFS Win10 to Ext4 which is my external backup drive. Copy completed and verified the data was present on the backup drive.

Powered off the external drive and shut down the system for the night.

The following day I was ready to sort through all the data on the external backup drive and noticed 2 folders that should have files in them were empty.

1 Folder should have 1TB plus and the other folder no more than 100GB.

What happened here?

Where are my files?

How do I recover them?

These files have value to me so I will exhaust all avenues to recover this data.
