Is there a way to back up an external hardrive connected to router?

I have an external hard drive connected to my router to be able to access it from any computer in my home. Is there a way to back it up with Paragon's software, without having to disconnect from router and connecting it to a computer with the software?

If a computer can write to this disk, then Paragon can too.
