I've used Paragon for a number of years and continue to use the legacy PBF (.pfi) file format with HDM15 as it works, and "if it ain't broke ..."

Newer versions of HDM have removed the legacy PBF format option but they claim to be able to restore legacy PBF format backups if needed (cannot browse archives to restore selected files, but can restore the whole drive).

Other than the new pVHD file format possibly creating smaller files, are there any really important advantage(s) to using pVHD for someone like me who simply wants to back up a drive and restore it if/when disaster strikes? Obviously if I upgrade to a newer version I will not have the choice.

Thanks :-)
