With another backup app (SyncBack from 2BrightSparks), configuring a backup to a destination "Drive D" can produce unexpected results. As Windows dynamically assigns drive letters, another drive may be assigned drive letter "D" and this makes the backup go to the wrong destination! The developers foresaw this issue and provide a means to specify a particular drive by its unique ID so drive letters are irrelevant. So source and destination drives use unique IDs and the issue becomes moot.

Have Paragon Backup's developers provided such a utility? I suppose this isn't a problem if you have only one external drive connected at a time but what if you have a half-dozen source drives hanging off a USB hub?

I did submit such a tech ticket at Paragon's site but I thought it might be a good thing to post it here, as well.

Thanks,
Barry
