Stupid why I never checked my backups, but an SSD was starting to show some worrying symptoms, so I thought I'd make an backup.
I never checked back on the backup or ever did a verify, God knows why.
So now the SSD is dead and I want some files back. Restoring gave weird error codes, until I finally took a deeper look and saw many files had 0 bytes (.pvhd, and some _later_ .PXX files). So that leaves still some 60GB of data. Does anyone know how to still get those back? I'm pretty sure the files I need are probably in those successfully backed up files.
Unfortunately it's not possible to restore from incomplete sets of backup files.
You might see if it's possible to recover these 0 byte files using specialized data recovery software, then -- hopefully -- restore data from your backup.
