Exclamation Migrating laptop HD to Larger SSD using usb to SATA cable

Process takes over 2 hours and says zero progress. Finally I get an error message that says

"File system has allocation errors due to cross-linked files. Run OS built in tools......."

I ran Chkdsk and no error were found.

    What else can I do?
Why is Paragon giving the error when Chkdsk is saying no errors?

    computer info:
    Windows 10 home
    64bit
Dell Inspiron i3 with 8gb ram
    500gb sata HD

The SSD I want to migrate to is a samsung evo 1tb drive
using a sata to usb interface
    USB 3

The new SSD has to have power supplied to it also. It also comes with it's own software called Samsung Magician. You must use that.
