no ENGLISH on this forum, so if this is the wrong place, sorry- crosslinked files

software does not work; partition manager will not work.
1 IDE HDD 250 GB - copied to SATA1 and removed.
1 SATA (500GB) copied IDE (C to this; it created a 250GB partition instead of a 500GB, no matter what option I choose, and tried all.
    2nd SATA (500GB) not involved.
So it created a 250GB partition with 9GB free. Cannot expand, extend or merge it into the other 250GB partition on same drive. Every time it tells me "cross-linked files"
but every time I set the PC to run at next boot it never runs!
It is a dual boot system on an Athlon Phenom2 with 8GB RAM, XP SP3 and Win7Pro.
So after three days of trying to copy C to SATA1, I end up with a 250GB partition with 9GB free in C and an empty, inaccessible 250GB partition that I cannot utilize. Every copy of original C ends up with only 9GB free - I want the entire 500GB as C.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
