    Cloning/copying a 1T SSD to another 1T SSD issue

    Cloning/copying a 1-T SSD (Samsung 850) to another 1-T SSD (Samsung 860) issue:

1st attempt: tried to copy the entire drive with, 1 OS + 3 other partitions to the brand new Samsung 860. When completed, I noticed that the new drive's OS partition had 13.3 gb's smaller amount of data on it.

2nd attempt: So, figuring that maybe the OS partition needed more room, I proceeded to reduce the size of the other 3 partitions to accommodate more room and just re-copy the OS partition only (850) back to the OS partition only (860). Unfortunately, same result. Not sure why this happened.

Going to try cloning using the software that came with the new drive.

it might not be inaccurate. it might be the way the drives determine space, and paragon may have intelligently adjusted the OS space. what you might do is after the operation, MOUNT the NEW dirve, and compare its contents to the ORIGINAL drive. You could look at the c: drive on both sides, see what the allocated space is, what the free space is, etc.
    anyway, something worth testing
