Can't install Paragon Backup & Recovery 16 free because of UIM error

Can't install Paragon because of "Installation has been canceled' error. The facts are:

1. Running in Administrator mode on Windows 10.0.15063 Build 15063 64-bit.
2. Error - "The Universal Image Mounter (UIM) is installed and cannot be proceeded. ... "
3. Instructions at https://kb.paragon-software.com/article/4194 do not apply since the device manager does not have a device entry for "Universal Image Mounter" listed.
4. Did install Paragon more than a year ago, but uninstalled it then.
5. Paragon does not show in the start menu or any other app list.
6. There are no significant entires in the registry containing the word "Paragon".
7. There is no "Paragon" folder in C:\Program Files. The only file references to "Paragon" on the drive are shown below

So, what needs to be done to install.

First thing is to clear Up anything from previous installations ; given what you said , most probably something remains from previous installation Paragon program is "NOT" in "programs" folder possibly but maybe in "program files" (X86)" If not , I am just without answer ; just an idea : look in "device manager" ; if you see Universal Image mounter, in the list then check , uninstall it ( just uninstall the driver ) and after reboot , try a new installation of the program

From what does your screenshot come from?

seems that you have a lot of .temp files related to Paragon ; just clean your disc thoroughly as a first step
