Paragon NTFS For Mac - Multiple Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) System Crashes

    System: iMac - (27-inch, Late 2012)
Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
Operating System: Mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6
Software Application: Paragon NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve been experiencing a somewhat regular series of system crash events for the past few months. It’s taken awhile to track down the cause of these crashes but I finally found what appears to be the culprit - Paragon’s NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359. I’ve conducted several tests using two different brand 1TB external hard drives connected to two different side-by-side USB ports (which, by the way caused no problems whatsoever until my recent upgrade to Paragon NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359. One factor that I can verify without a doubt - as soon as NTFS For Mac is disabled through System Preferences, the system crashes stop. At this point I have the external hard drives connected to the USB ports with NTFS For Mac disabled and have not experienced any system crashes. Below is a copy of my latest system crash report.

It should be noted that when one or both external hard drives were connected to a USB port with NTFS For Mac enabled, system crashes occurred at intervals of 15 minutes to half an hour after each recovery from a previous crash. As you can see this made my entire system unusable.

I look forward to hearing from you once you've had an opportunity to review my current information and decide what is the best way to resolve this issue.

Unfortunately, due to a strict number of characters limited per post (here on your forum) my crash report has been significantly truncated.

Re: Paragon NTFS For Mac - Multiple Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) System Crashes

    UPDATE: MONDAY NOVEMBER 7 2016
I updated my current version of Paragon NTFS For Mac to version 14.3.266 today.
This updated version is running within Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1.

Unfortunately, I’m still experiencing the same problems with my external hard drives.
Again, even if I do not access / use either of my NTFS formatted external hard drives while they're plugged into my USB ports, within approximately an hour my entire system crashes.
As soon as I remove either or both of these NTFS formatted external hard drives, the crashes do not occur.

Seeing as you've not been publicly replied to, I wanted to know how you're doing and the answers to a couple of questions. I ask simply because it appears that your OSX installation may be corrupted.

1.) What model Mac do you have? Can you be specific ie. 'Macbook Pro (Late-2012)'? This information can be found in 'About This Mac" from the Apple menu.

2.) Have you tried reinstalling the OS from scratch? Do you have a Time Machine backup or better?

    Thanks.

    System: iMac - (27-inch, Late 2012)
Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
Operating System: MacOS Sierra Version 10.12.3
Software Application: Paragon NTFS For Mac Version 14.3.318

I've been "living with this" for around 6 months now, maybe more. Visited this forum a while back hoping to find a resolution, but I saw it had been months since anyone replied here. Other forums were also devoid of answers. Did a clean install of MacOS, but it was still happening. Eventually decide to just disable the Paragon NTFS for Mac driver and boot into Windows whenever I needed to write to NTFS.

Circumstances have changed where I now need NTFS writing capabilities to be readily available within MacOS and I found myself forced into trying to come up with a solution. I tried once again to have only certain drives plugged in to see if maybe it was specific storage device that may have been corrupted. Kept getting crashes until, to my surprise, I managed to avoid crashes altogether by Unmounting my Windows 10 boot camp partition from my internal SSD upon booting into MacOs . If I leave it mounted, within 20-30 minutes the system crashes. Not sure what within my Windows 10 partition could be causing this but thought I'd put it out there in case someone hadn't tried that yet.

Looks like the issue is with the Spotlight. You have to it turn off on your tome "mdutil -i off /Volumes/<LABEL>" .

    Update:

Upon upgrading to Paragon NTFS For Mac 15 ( on Monday August 7, 2017), my system crash problem has been completely resolved.
I can now access all of my external hard drives with causing a system crash.
