I have two Western Digital My Book drives that no longer work with Mac OS Sierra. (They worked fine with Yosemite.)

The machine recognizes the drives; but, when the computer goes to sleep, the drives apparently do so as well, and they apparently have trouble waking up. The drives usually appear but their content may be missing, or only their top level folders may show. The solution is to re-satrt the machine or to unplug and re-plug the drives.

Someone posted on the Apple Forums that Paragon software fixed the problem for their Seagate drives. I wonder, would it help with the Western Digital drives, too?

They mentioned NTFS for Mac 15. Is that the software I should get? Or, would I need the Hard Disk Manager for Mac?

Also, would the drives need to be formatted in NTFS? I have mine formatter as Mac OS Extended Journaled.

Seagate had a version of the NTFS software; but, the software said it was only for Seagate drives.

Thank you!

Bob
