How do i backup to a NAS or Network Location with user name and password?

I am trying to use Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 Professional to backup an image (vm) to a NAS network location. When I try to browse to network locations it shows some of my servers but not the NAS. When I try to put in that path it does not seem to like it. I want to make sure that I set this to connect and disconnect after the image is done. If you leave a connection up and running then it can fall prey to ransomeware. Can this be done? Most backup companies offer NAS support so I would be surprised in these times this is not available. I would like to recommend this to my customers if it works. If not I will need to find something else. (I am a reseller of a popular NAS company.)

Check your registry to see if the following is there already. It's a patch from way back that fixed the same problem with HDM15S and my WD MyCloud(NAS).

To configure the EnableLinkedConnections registry value: Click Start, type regedit, and press Enter. Locate and right-click the registry subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System. Point to New and choose DWORD Value. Type EnableLinkedConnections and press Enter. Right-click EnableLinkedConnections and click Modify. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. Exit the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

Well that did not seem to help. What I need is the location of setting up a network share along with the user name and the password. I appreciate the suggestion but I have a feeling this software does not have this and that is a shame. Any good backup software needs the capability of mapping a network location, sign in with supplied credentials, do the image, backup, etc., then disconnect. With ransomeware any connected network share can be encrypted. Therefore disconnecting is a must when doing backups in the current time we live in. If there is a way to do this I would be interested. Maybe a command line? This way I can create a batch file that will do this.
