Thank you. Yes you are correct. The BR15 images were created using the old format (for some I never succeeded in using the new format). Yes, I have pbf file. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I guess I'll have to keep both BR15 and 16.

From Paragon site for HDM15S, screen shot, upper right corner between up arrow and "?" mark; https://www.paragon-software.com/hom...reenshots.html, open the second screen shot.
Hi to both of you,
the restore of PBF archives is not possible with BR 16 and is not intended to be implemented in future versions of BR/HDM 16. Please use your version 15 program to restore archives created in the old and obsolete PBF format. This is one of the reasons we made it possible to install version 15 (or older) and 16 of the same program side by side on the same system.

Thank you for the response and fully clarifying the situation. I would suggest however that you update your Knowledge Base to reflect this reality. the KB for BR 16 implies the PBF files will be supported in future versions and describes (incorrectly) how to do so. See the following (emphasis mine):
I recognize that having a free version of BR 15 technically does allow this, but it is not what the KB implies. BTW, double clicking on a PBF file in Windows Explorer opens BR 16, even if BR 15 is installed.]Of course the old backup format will not expire in the short term. It will still be available But we don’t recommend to use it to create new backups.
The possibility to restore old archives will be assured for a long time.
To access the old PBF format and the respective options please click the tool symbol top right in the menu bar and select “Legacy Mode”.

Hi bobjbkln, thanks for this hint. This article has been written in a hurry long time ago to introduce the new file format and the tool symbol for switching between the old and new format. But that time the state of information about continuing with support of the PBF format was like I wrote. Somebody decided otherwise . I have been planning to modify this article since a long time to make it more general about our archive formats. I feel that this time has come now ...
