    BootMgr missing problem

I have used Paragon Backup 14 to fully backup a Win10 desktop using a Raid0 configuration. I was originally attempting to restore to the same computer once the Raid array has been destroyed on a single 300GB (279GB actual size) non-RAID drive.

For more info, please see another online discussion I am having over at Tom's Hardware at http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/....html#18396935 and also at http://www.badbod.com/move-windows-f...e-disk-how-to/ That 2nd link has the complete instructions I was following.

I ran into a problem where the original Windows backup needed to have Windows configured for AHCI not RAID. I forgot to do that step, so now I need to restore my original configuration. Then I can convert to AHCI within Windows, re-backup and re-break the RAID0 array as outlined in the instructions on the BadBod website.

However, I am unable to properly restore the Win10 configuration back on a re-created RAID0 array on the same original two drives that were spanned. I keep getting BootMgr is not found errors after restoring all 3 partitions from the original raid array.

My goal right now is to restore the RAID0 array with 2 300GB drives creating a single 550GB spanned drive with approximately 250GB used space on it.

    Please help.

    Re: BootMgr missing problem

    Try this:

This error indicates that the boot sector is damaged or missing.

    1) Create System Repair Disc (Control Panel – Backup and Restore – Create a system repair disc) or
press F8 at PC startup to open boot options and select Repair Your Computer
    2) Boot your PC
    3) Select Use recovery tools and then select Recovery console from recovery tools menu
    4) Type the following commands:

    Bootrec /fixmbr
    Bootrec /fixboot
    Bootrec /RebuildBcd
    Bootsect /nt60 all
    5) Close console and select “Startup repair” from recovery tools menu.

    6) Check if Windows is bootable now

For more information, see: Microsoft KB https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2622803

Let me know if it's working for you.

    @JessyJ

That worked! I used the System Repair Disc I had previously made and got to the console. Went through your list and tada it's back!

    Thank you ever so much!
