Need help for laptop migration

Hi, I want to migrate a Windows 10 user from a old laptop (HP EliteBook 820 G2) to a new laptop (HP EliteBook 820 G4). So hardware is slightly different but most drivers should work...

Few questions:

1. Can I just slap the old HDD (1TB SDD) into the new laptop? Will it work considering that the BIOS is EFI... any chances that the disk and data get's wrecked when doing this?

2. Safer option: migrate the data+OS from old laptop to an image (on a NAS), then restore that image back to the new laptop? Then with this option can someone let me know what is the best way to do this with Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 Professional (English) Single License? (Sorry I am quite newbie in Paragon hence this post)

Also note the old laptop is 1TB SSD and new laptop is 256 GB SSD so I wish to slap the old 1TB SSD into the new laptop...
