backup unable to restore

I had a win 10 bombed out. Took the hdd to a friend who made a backup as follows
**.pfi
**.pvhd
**.pbe

I downloaded the free restore from Paragon-Software but it shows no restore function till you have made a backup.
Can I now make a backup of the new win10 installation and just replace the created files with the above or what do I have to do.
I don't even want to restore everything really, just some of the files on the C drive that were not yet copied to the external drive.

I appreciate any help or comments.
