W7 old server to new server migration (P2P), what is the process using HDM16?
Hello,
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
I have an existing W7 Intel server that is operational
I am building a new W7 Intel server to replace the existing server.
I'd like to use Paragon to avoid reinstalling, configuring a lot of W7 software :-)
QUESTION
At one time, I believe Paragon Hard Disk Manager (or Suite) was able to do a P2P migration from an existing server to a new server.
I know that Norton System Recovery does this by removing the Windows HAL layer.
I own HDM 16.5, the interface I remember has changed a lot :-)
I searched the HDM 16.5 manual and don't see a P2P process covered.
Has this Paragon feature been moved or removed?
Did I purchase the wrong Paragon product?
If HDM 16.5 is able to do this task, is the process documented for HDM 16.5?
I assume the process involves -
1) Backup source server
2) Create recovery media
3) Boot target server using recovery media
4) Restore source backup on target
5) Reboot and allow Windows to add any necessary drivers
If I purchased the wrong Paragon product, which would you recommend for an experienced home user?
If the feature is nolonger available, please let me know.

my suggestion -
make paragon RMB, (or install on server), and run paragon, either from RMB, or directly from server.
make a backup IMAGE, to s apare attached usb drive.
then, take your NEW drive (attached), and do an image RESTORE to that drive from the backed up image.
advantage of IMAGE is you can do a CHECK VERIFICATION before restore, to make sure it is intact.
then, once restored, put new drive into machine.
I believe it should boot
