Windows ADK and creating recovery media

Running Windows 10. was able to create a USB recovery media using the WIM option NOT the ADK option and when rebooting from the USB drive I could see all the devices in the system, external drives as well as internal drives. When I tried using the ADK option, the USB recovery media was created, but after rebooting from the USB drive, I could only see the USB drive, nothing else. I selected no additional drivers when creating the USB recovery media. ADK and the WinPE addition are installed. What am I missing to get the recovery device to see other devices after rebooting from the USB device?
