I hope some can help me, I used Partition Manager 8.5 boot cd to resize my partition on my laptop harddrive. I wanted Partition Manager to resize my 30GB harddrive to 20Gb and create a new 10 Gb partition, which it did, but know it says that my 20Gb partition is unformatted and that I have a 9.9Gb partition which is free.

the problem is I had data on the 30Gb partition that I cannot access now cause its 20Gb now and says its unformatted, so my data is lost. I thought that partition manager would leave my data intact while resizing my partition?

what do i do know to undo this disaster or atleast get my data back, since i do not see any undo function and i tried to search for deleted partitions and it came up with nothing.

Please Please help me.

Hello Hawk,

Maybe the delete/undelete option can fix your probelm.
that only works if the new createt free space is not formatted. (if iīm right this is your situation)
1. Boot from recovery cd, delete your unformatted partition.
2. mark the free space partition and choose undelete in the rigth menue.

Now a wizzard should start, where it looks for deleted partitions. There are also some configs you can make ( i donīt now all ).
if it find something go on and look at the effect. if the Partition is shown as one ( as before) rightclick on it and choose browse partition. now you can look if all data are shown.

Try to boot from HDD, if it doesnīt work boot the recovery CD and do a update MBR.

hope this could help you
