This is the message that I get using Hard Disk Manager 8 SE when trying to restore my C Drive from within Windows XP. Previously from Windows it would allow me to click re-start and it would do so. I am able to perform the restore using the Paragon Boot Disk, but I would prefer to start it within Windows.

What is this "bluescreen service" that I need to install - or what is the workaround?

P.S. I have uninstalled and then re-installed Paragon, but still get same error message.

Blue Screen is a driver created by Paragon. It is used to handle the tasks that could be applied physically only in non Windows mode. It acts like CHKDSK c:/f command, during restart before Windows loads its desktop you can see the Paragon splash screen and planned operation starts its work. Important for reducing system partition or defrag operation.
Something is preventing installation of this driver on your computer. Try to disable antivirus or Norton GoBack like software before starting installation of a product.

Thank you for your explanation. I discovered that my new Firewall, Online Armor, was the culprit. I am now trying to find out how to set that firewall to accept the bluescreen driver.
